Usually, the idols we continue to venerate today have been depicted within a historical context—through the weapons they wield or the hand gestures they make. Some might consider it disrespectful to reimagine these figures in a contemporary context, but I believe it’s actually more respectful in a way that makes them relatable to us, just as they were to people in the past. This process helps me understand human psychology better, revealing that religion is an integral part of cultural development. It can’t be separated from us, no matter how secular we might desire society to be. It’s simply presented in different forms that we often fail to recognize
